Edition originale. Suite of 70 plates (of 73 published) in bright contemporary colouring, together with the introducing text leaf signed by Achille Comte. Plates 71 to 73, which are not present in this copy, show different publisher’s notes and were probably published later on. Thus the present series is the complete set published by Bulla and bound at the time of publication by „Perrin, Magasin de Papiers, Rue du Bac 15, Paris“ with it’s label on the inner side of the front board. 28 plates show French captions (premier tirage/first issue), while 42 plates show French and English captions (second tirage/second issue). – Vicaire V, 775–780; Brivois 179f.; Sander 310. – Text leaf foxing.
