Aegidius Gabrielis was a franciscan tertiary and member of a Bogard congregation. He fullfilled several offices of the Bogard network, but also a professorship of theology in Antwerp and philosophy in Brussels. He developed himself into a well-regarded preacher and confessor with austere viewpoints on morals and behaviour. Contempories suspected Aegidius of Cartesianist and Jansenist rigorist tendecies which even led to attempts at cencorship. – Title with two library stamps, library marks and ms. owner`s entry.
