One of 695 numbered copies on cream coloured Pannekoek paper, this one with ms. presentation „For Howard Rothschild with many thanks for many favours and best wishes Glenway Wescott“ and with preserved front part of the wrapping paper showing both addresses of Wescott in Paris and Rothschild in New York as well as the ms. remark „via SS. Europa. Imprimé“. The book, which is a free compilation of selected lives of Saints, was designed by Wescott’s partner Monroe Wheeler and is the first one printed in the Krimpen’s twelve-point Romanée type. Howard Rothschild was a friend of George Platt-Lynes and the New York ballet scene around Georges Balanchine.
