Only edition. Main source of the early history of the First International after the founding of the International Workingmen’s Association IWA, in London in 1864 up to it’s schism in 1872. It was a decision at the Sonvillier congress on November 12, 1871 to collect some writings about the activities of the Swiss branch of the First International in order to present them at the Hague Congress in 1872. The printing began in July 1872 but was not finished before 1873. The main part is diveded in three chapters as „Avant la fédération Romande (1865–1868)“, „La Fédération Romande (1868–1870)“, „La scisson (1870–1871)“, while the 139 pp. appendix assembles important primary sources, called „pièces justificatives“. – Stammhammer I, 147; Nettlau 52. – Spine broken, front cover detached and restored. – Best.-Nr. 21756
