Second edition of the French translation of Leti’s „La Monarchia Universale di Luigi XIV“, first published in Amsterdam in 1689 and translated into French in the same year. Leti (1630–1701) resided at the court of Louis XIV before he moved to England at the court of Charles II for whom he wrote a history of England. Leti fled the English court in 1683 to Amsterdam, where he worked as city historiographer. The present second edition of his treatiese about the French monarchy of Louis XIV was published in the year of his death. – Minor rubbing to spine of vol. I affecting gilt letters of „Tom.
