First French edition of Sharp’s „Treatise on the operations of surgery“ (London 1739). Samuel Sharp (1700–1778) was a famous surgeon at Guy’s Hospital, London, member of the Royal Society and of the académie de chirurgie in Paris. He had an innovative approach to most operations and instruments in surgery and in ophtalmology. The engraved plates show surgical instruments. From the estate of the Kinsky family with their armorial supralibros on both boards. Later in possession of Joachim Ramschissl with his ms. inscription „Munificia Kynskyana“ (gift by Kinsky) on flyleaf. – Blake 416; Hirsch V, 380f. Waller 8898. – Pp. 21/22 brown-stained.
