A Beautiful large paper copy of this lavishly illustrated travel account to Italy. With printed dedication from Elizabeth Frances Batty (1791–1875) to her father, the phisician Robert Batty. The descriptions to Batty’s views are anonymously written „by a friend of the pubisher’s“ (note on dedication leaf). From the estate of W. Warner Parry M.A.R.N. with his engr. armorial bookplate on first paste-down. – Cf. Thieme/Becker III, 50 (John Batty! no mentioning of Elizabeth Frances B.) – Joints and spine ends expertly restored.
