First collected edition of Francis Bacon’s works printed in Germany. Being the second collected edition of Bacon’s works at all, it is more complete than the edition printed in London in 1638. With devotional letter of the editor and publisher Schonewetter to Johann Hellwig Sinold von Schütz at the beginning. – Gibson 236; Brunet I, 604. – Title with cut-out old owner’s name, the cut-outs restored from behind.
