Contemp. green half morocco over 5 raised bands, spine and top edge gilt. Orig. printed wrappers bound in. – Paris, P.-V. Stock, 1898. Edition originale. One of 100 numbered copies on papier de Hollande after 21 on Japan and 10 on China paper. This one being no. 47 and printed for the bookseller Stock. Complete with both plates which were only added to the 131 luxury copies. The etching by Eugène Delâtre (1864–1938) shows a portrait of the author with a black cat on his neck. The Art Nouveau colour plate by Pierre Roche (1855–1922) shows the inside of a Gothic cathedral with a female figure in the centre. – Not in Vicaire. – Clean copy in a nice appropriate binding.
