Second Duchesne edition in the year of the first edition. Here the 8vo version ending with p. 464 and being delivered prior to the 12mo version. Vol. I with the explication of the plates and the eight erratas, of which six were already corrected in this version. The work, one of the most important statement about education ever and a pioneering treatise on psychology, was forbidden in Geneva and Paris suddenly after it’s publication. – Dufour 190; McEachern 4A; Cohen/de R. 903. – Outer hinges of vols. First edition of the first biography on J. J. Rousseau by the French officer and nobleman Barruel-Beauvert (1756–1817). Although being a traditional royalist an opponent to all revolutionary events in 1790 and the following years, Barruel-Beauvert was a great admirer of Rousseau and his ideas of freedom. – (Bound with:) Prosopée de J.
