First faithful French version, albeit in prose, of „The Economy of Love“ by the Scottish physician-poet John Armstrong (1709-1779). The translator resp. “bibliophile fantaisiste” is Olivier de Gourcuff (1853–1938) who left a ms. inscription “A mon collaborateur [Fau] ... l’éditeur et non l’auteur Olivier de Gourcuff” on half title. – Somewhat browned, defect to upper outer corner of frist leaf and stain to 2nd leaf. – Best.-Nr. 10862
