One of 200 numbered copies on papier bouffant of a total edition of 216. Signed in the colophon by the author and the artist. Paul Dermée was part of the Dada and Surrealist movement in France. Together with Le Corbusier and Amadée Ozenfant he was publisher of “L’Esprit Nouveau”, a periodical attributed to literary Cubism in which discontinued phrases are style forming. The present illustrations by Juan Gris are a perfect pendant to Dermée’s “Cubist” text. – Monod I, 3656; Skira 140. Not in Carteret. – Front wrapper partly detached from book block.
