One of 120 numbered copies on papier Vélin du Marais of a total limited edition of 197, signed next to the numbering by publisher Foret. Foreword by Sacha Guitry, unpublished texts by Pierre Benoit, André Maurois, Jean Cocteau, Edmond Heuzé, F. Crommelynck, and Liucie Valore. The book was planned to be published in 1955. Due to the delay of Utrillo’s work on the lithographs and his death in november 1955 one of the lithographs was left unfinished and the book itself was finished end of March 1956 only. Suzanne Vaadon was the mother of Utrillo, Lucie Valore (pseud. for Lucie Powels) his wife. – (Together with:) Subscription leaflet. 4 pp + inlaid transparent leaf with photograph showing Utrillo working on a stone. – Monod 10823. – Lacking 1 colour lithograph (wind mill in summer).
